Toitu Tairawhiti is made up of the CEs of the four iwi of Te Tairawhiti, Ngati Porou, Rongowhakaata, Ngai Tamanuhiri and Te Aitanga a Mahaki. 

Toitu Tairawhiti was formalised in 2020 in response to the outbreak of Covid 19 in Aotearoa. Together they formed a proactive leadership group to support whanau living in Te Tairawhiti by organising hygiene, care and food packs, responding to requests of assistance, and advocating at a national scale. 

Toitu Tairawhiti has been able to influence and inform decision making, the collective power of our 4 iwi ensures that we leverage of the networks, infrastructure, and connections that are cultivated within each, whilst continuing to maintain the mana motuhake of each respective iwi.
