Turanga Health

Turanga Health are an iwi health provider and general practice with 60 staff including one GP and 10 nurses.

Turanga Health is built on a vision of ‘kia whai oranga-a-whanau mo nga whakatipuranga’ – ‘building family wellness for future generations’. The organisation’s mission is to achieve Mauri Ora by engaging with whānau in their whare and in their kainga.

Their staff offer holistic care for all who live within the tribal boundaries of the three Turanga iwi: Ngāi Tāmanuhiri, Rongowhakaata, and Te Aitanga a Māhaki.

Ngati Porou Hauora

Ngāti Porou Hauora is a charitable trust; and the only Maori owned and operated hospital in the world.

Ngati Porou Hauora is the sole primary health care provider for a challenging geographic area that stretches across 200 km of coastline.

Being the biggest employer on the East Coast, Ngati Porou Hauora also plays a critical role in the area’s economy, injecting an additional $5.5 million of GDP through the employment of local people and funding contracts.
